Review: February 1996 TPL

Points made and their associated Scripture references, made in the January 1996 review will not be repeated in this paper! See the Jan-TPL review.

Page 1: Under Phase I, A) 2) The comment on page one referencing Zechariah 14:1-3, that "HALF of Jerusalem goes forth into captivity to Arab Legion of Jordan" is then unlikely to have happened on May 14, 1948. If you accept that the January review provides the "spirit of truth" and that Zech. 1:4 refers to the time (Rev. 11:13) of the third -- IT HAS TO BE ONE OF THE FIVE EARTHQUAKES WHICH THE REVELATION SPEAKS OF -- great earthquake, then we must accept that in the city of Jerusalem "seven thousand names of men were killed in/by the earthquake." There was no massive earthquake during the 1948 battle for the city of Jerusalem; nor did another great earthquake very quickly follow.., as required per Rev.11:19, and Zech 14:4 (in the entire chapter context).

Zech. 14:1-3 is more in line with the thought presented under Phase I, N) "Olivet earthquake; temple of Ezekiel's prophecy" NOT JUST begun, but OPENED, (11:19; 15:8) as a house of prayer... The kingdom HAS JUST BEEN restored.

The narrative of Revelation 10:1 through 11:2 details the time of Christ's PAROUSIA during the 1,260 days of "the end" through to the finish of the 1,335th day of Daniel's vision, 12:9-13; during the building of the temple; during the concurrent prophesying of the two witnesses; during the time of the Dragon and Beast's warfare against the holy people, and ending with the resurrection of the dead, which culminates in the Lord's EPIPHANEE - his shining forth in his Glory (Ezek. 43:4-7) to all the nations of the world!

Christ has taken his power and rules, so the "nations are angry" still, as a careful reading Psalm 2 will show. The Father proceeds to pour out His judgment vials on the surrounding nations of the Land. But not before the "gospel of the Olam" has been preached by the witnesses (Rev. 11) and not before the judgment of the resurrection and the judgments of the vengeance are past (14:6 through 15:4).

Which earthquake is the one spoken of in Zechariah 14? Definitely, the one which elevates Jerusalem above the surrounding terrain: "...it shall rise and dwell in its place..," v. 10. Probably during No. 3 and No. 4, (shake and after shock) which occur very close together, Rev. 11:11-12, and Rev. 11:19.

J) [page two] of TPL;

All occur from Rev. 6:12, when "the wrath of the Lamb" begins to burn, through the sixth trumpet period, until "It is done," Rev. 16:17. The "Assyrian's" war against Israel, the strange phenomenon of Psalm 83, and the "day of distress" [tsarah again] and "day of calamity" of Obadiah 12-15 are all concurrent.

The military and war-like "multitudinous Christ" is a vapor tale. [Author's note: I have deleted the phrase "like the second coming of Elijah," which was a plain contradiction of Malachi's prophecy. Concerning Elijah, see my website.] Many of the things that are claimed to be done by the "multitudinous Christ" are events done by the heavenly agencies -- the angels -- of God, the Father Himself, things like we have witnessed since 1948. He treads the wine press ALONE, with none of the peoples with Him, Isaiah 63:3-6; 59:16-20.

Gog's assault on the Land is associated with the destruction of Babylon and the frog-like spirits who call out to "the kings of the Land and of the whole habitable" for help. He goes down into the Land in order to steal the goods and prey from a land devastated by warfare and earthshakings. God destroys him "in one day" upon the mountains of Israel.

Mind you, the "mountains of Israel" ARE NOT east of the Dead Sea; they ARE NOT the Judean hills; they ARE NOT the mountains of Moab which are the only "mountains" east of the DEAD Sea. But the "mountains of Israel" are east of "the Sea," the mountains of ancient Israel, "east of the Mediterranean Sea." Near the site of Armageddon, of course.

Expect that the land, its mountains and valleys, might be at the least, slightly changed, by the five earthquakes which will then hit the land with such great catastrophic, earth-moving effects which Zechariah 14:4-10 speaks of. -- which was partly the subject of Elijah's preaching of Christ when he once came.

Primarily, I have tried to orient you, the reader, to O.T. prophecy by the times of the earthquakes and the woes, with the events in order, by comparing the Revelation with Daniel, and then adding the O.T. prophets at the point where there is no great question as to what "phase" they belong to.

Isaiah 33: Here is the place where you can rightly place Psalm 102:13! 33:3, "At the noise of the tumult [hamon] the people fled, at the lifting up of Thyself the nations were scattered." 33:5, "The LORD is lifted up... 33:10, "Now will I rise.., now will I lift up Myself." Even mentions "locusts" in the same manner of context as Rev. 9 does... People are even "burned in the fire"..., 33:12-14. The entire Land has been destroyed (ruined) by the tumult. [Hebrew: #2541, hamon; multitude, noise, stone. From #2554; to treat violently.] Gog's invasion and burial, in Hamon-Gog, comes to mind, does it not? The whole chapter should be read as pertaining to the time of Christ's return and the judgment of all the people of the Land, of both sinners and righteous. The whole Land has been desolated by the violent treatment of the people during the Dragon and Beast's warfare, and the land itself by the earth-shakings, when the LORD will rise up to the prey in His "day."

33:17: From wherever the vantage point, "They shall see the land that is very far distant" simply because the earth-shaking elevates Jerusalem - where the king will reside in his beauty of holiness - above all the surrounding hills, exactly as Zechariah 14:4-11 says. Ed, you have been to the Holy Land, you know how far you can see to the distant hills!

The May 1996 TPL

I have to begin by commenting on the phrase Rev. 1:3 and 22:10, "for the time is near." Is that what the meaning really is? That is what the CH theory leads one to think. Tradition is a powerful witness, but only if its testimony is true! The proofs I have offered throughout these pages have all pointed to the fact that the season of Christ's coming is a time which is of "short" duration and a "little moment," according to both Daniel and the Revelation of 1,260 days; plus the 1,290th to 1,335th days in length.

"The season is compact."

The events of the days of Christ's return are tightly squeezed together for their rapid fulfillment. The Lord "comes quickly" in his return and rapidly does the work appointed to him...

Now, we know that the "last days" of Israel are troubled by the Dragon -- hatred -- and by the Beast, -- Israel's adversary -- and by the False Prophet who speaks the same evil way as both of them! The Dragon's spirit is pretty well defined in the Revelation itself as the Serpent, the Devil, the Deceiver of mankind which has existed since the Garden of Eden. "The ancient Serpent," is confirmed as to his identity by Rev. 20:2. The Dragon represents the evil-spirited seven nations, full of hate, and adversity -- which makes all resistance to the restoration of the kingdom to Israel.

Except, in the Revelation we have two "beast" entities.

1. The one "beast" which resembles the Dragon in its bodily form, Rev. 13:2; the one body of hatred having seven "heads" which are adverse to Israel.

2. And there is yet "another" beast which arises in the Land and from out of a "deep place" there, 13:11, the one having two lamb-like horns. (This "other" beast has never been satisfactorily identified except to the CH believers. )

This "other" beast's whole purpose -- its authority -- the whole reason for its existence -- is to enforce the Dragon's worship in the Land, to force the Jewish people to do/to make an image of the first beast for worship. Who is this "other beast" who is empowered to force image worship upon the people of the land? This raises the issue of religion; the dispute between Islam and Judaism, and which probably will involve the Christians too, since the Pope has his eyes set upon a throne in Jerusalem! Could this two-horned "other" beast be an incorporation of the seven-headed Dragon ruling in conjunction with the mysterious "ten horns," of 13:1-2.., and 17:2-3, 6-7? The "Assyrian" of Micah 5:5-6? Incidentally, Hislop, in Two Babylons, defines the "Assyrian" as "the one made strong for himself" rather than as a proper name. Possibly the "him" whom both the king of the north and the king of the south push at during the time of the end...

Well, you CH fans identify the "other" beast with the Holy Roman Empire and the Eastern Empire (the Ottoman Empire), both of which are now long dead and disappeared. What about "Today, .." and its relevance to that identity now?

What is this two-horned "other" beast ? Is it, a matured Palestinian AUTHORITY, 13:11-12, -18, which has not yet emerged upon the Middle East scenery? Of the seven nations and with ten members who advise the "two horns"? (I don't know the member composition of the PA, nor how the representatives are chosen. Maybe someone can provide this info, if it seems relevant to the question here?)

The "linkage" between the "ten horns" and the Palestinian Authority may provide the power through which the "rulers of the Land" are enabled to scatter Israel's power, per Daniel 12:7; to decimate the people, per Zech. 13:8-9. Except, the "ten horns" of the "beast," 13:1 and 17:12, "hate the harlot;" Rev. 17:1-3, even so, they will give up their power and their authority to the "beast," of 13:1. Later they will make the harlot "desolate," "naked," "eat her 'flesh'," and "burn her with fire," per Rev. 17:16. It's VERY hard to believe that the (ten) nations of the EU might give up their power to the seven-headed beast; it's hard to believe that any (ten) nations of the Land might give up their power to the seven-headed beast; it's hard to believe that the (ten) nations of Israel (who have received no kingdom as yet) might give up their power to the seven-headed beast who gets his power, his throne and great authority from the Dragon, per 13:2. (It's a guessing game at this point.) Which religion will win the battle in the controversy of Zion -- Islam, the Christians, or the Jews?

Of course, no one yet can confirm the true composition or identity of the leopard - bear - lion parts of the beast, either!
