Zion Restored

(Ezekiel's Temple Prophecy)

Index

The bulk of Ezekiel's prophecy climaxes with the vision of the LORD's future sanctuary on Mt. Zion, which Isaiah calls "the house of prayer for all peoples." As in the ancient times, the "house" will be the resting place of the heavenly glory during the years of the Lord's millennial reign over the earth.

Chronology of the entire prophecy.

Summary of Chapters 1-39:

Chapter 40-1 The vision of Chapter 40 is divided into two parts due to the redundant comparison of all the gate houses.

Chapter 40-2 Vision of the wall, the gates and courts of the sanctuary of the LORD's house on the very high mountain.

Chapter 41 Vision of the temple's measurements and design.

Chapter 42 Vision of the chambers of the priests.

Chapter 43 Vision of the reentry of the LORD's glory into the sanctuary of the LORD's house.

Chapter 44 Instructions concerning the keeping of the entrances and of the exits of the sanctuary.

Chapter 45 Instructions for division of the lands for the inheritance of the priests and tribes, etc.

Chapter 46 Instruction concerning the East gates.

Chapter 47 Vision of the river through the woods.

Chapter 48 Remaining divisions of the land; the prophecy's close.

Appendix Practical solutions to some "problems" which the text exposes.
